Walker Scobell, the 17-year-old star of Disney+ series Percy Jackson & The Olympians, announced he will skip his high school prom after fans sent death threats to teenage girls who might attend with him. The actor posted on Instagram asking admirers to stop harassing his classmates based on their proximity to where he lives. “Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me,” Scobell wrote. “It’s not fair to them or to their families. Maybe also just stop sending death threats in general. That’s just not cool.” His co-star Aryan Simhadri previously described uncomfortable fan encounters, including one where an intoxicated fan inappropriately touched him. Scobell stars in the Disney+ fantasy series based on Rick Riordan’s book series about a teenage demigod navigating a world filled with mythological monsters.
