MP Arnold expecting positive news on Kamloops office

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Shuswap Central Rockies Conservative MP Mel Arnold is expecting positive news soon as he looks to add an Kamloops constituency office in addition to his current office in Salmon Arm.

Following the redistribution of federal ridings ahead of the last election which split Kamloops into two districts, Arnold has been working out of shared spaces in the city, while looking to secure a permanent office space within his riding, which begins east of sixth avenue downtown.

“Good news hopefully in the near future, it’s been a challenge to find something that both matches the requirements of the house of commons and space that is actually in the Kamloops Shuswap Central Rockies riding. There is space available Kamloops but a lot of it is actually in Frank Caputo’s riding,” said Mel Arnold. “So finding the suitable space that meet the requirements of the House of Commons has been a bit of a challenge but we are close, really close.”

Despite the lack of a formal office space in Kamloops, Arnold stated it hasn’t hindered his ability to help constituents in the city.
