Sony Pictures is developing a Metal Gear Solid film adaptation with Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. The directors recently signed a first-look production deal following their success with Final Destination: Bloodlines, which earned over $315 million worldwide. The project based on the nearly 40-year-old video game franchise features special-ops missions where players destroy a nuclear-capable weapon of mass destruction. “As long term fans of the game, we are thrilled and honored to bring Hideo Kojima’s iconic characters and unforgettable world to life,” the directing duo stated. They are also developing multiple other Sony projects, including an animated Venom movie.
