Kamloops’ Iranian population watches as clock ticks down on latest Trump threat
KAMLOOPS — A man prone to exaggeration, President Donald Trump says on Truth Social that ‘a whole civilization will die to tonight, never to be brought back again.’ His supporters call it his usual negotiation tactic, while opponents see it as a public admission of future war crimes and genocide.
“That is why he is being labelled as TACO, or ‘Trump Always Chickens Out.’ He gives this extreme threat and deadline and then he backs off. But at the same time, he does make irrational foreign policy decisions which are hard to predict,” said TRU assistant professor of political science Saira Bano Tuesday (April 7).
Tuesday was deemed ‘Bridge and Power Plant Day’ by the president, and that threat has become real, with the Israeli government announcing it has hit bridge infrastructure around Iran already.
