District of Logan Lake assumes operations of Meadow Creek Golf Course

LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — The District of Logan Lake is assuming responsibility for the operations of the community’s nearby golf course after nearly four decades of volunteer sustainability.

On March 31, the Meadow Creek Golf Club voted to dissolve its lease agreement with the district and return all golf course lands and assets to municipal ownership.

The district credited every board member, supporter and volunteer with the Meadow Creek Golf Club for their commitment over the previous 37 years.

In a news release issued Friday (April 2), the district says the Meadow Creek Golf Club has faced recurring deficits at the end of its golf season. The district says the ongoing challenges showed the volunteers’ resilience and the importance of finding a sustainable new path.

“As we move through increasingly challenging times, it has become more difficult for volunteer organizations to remain viable in the face of rising costs,” Logan Lake Mayor Robin Smith says. “We are grateful for the many years of dedication from the Meadow Creek Golf Club and its volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to maintain this valued community asset.”

Over the coming months, the district says it will begin working on a comprehensive and sustainable plan for the Meadow Creek Golf Course. It adds strengthening connections between the golf course and the district’s municipal campground may enhance tourism, recreation and overall community benefit.

The Meadow Creek Golf Course is expected to open for the 2026 season, with an official opening date to be announced in the coming weeks.
