Kamloops United begins 2026 BCPL season with defeat in Vancouver

VANCOUVER — It was a losing start to the new season for Kamloops United as they played their first games of the 2026 BC Premier League (BCPL) campaign, formerly League1 British Columbia.

In men’s action, Noel Poole scored twice for Kamloops, but they lost 5-2 to the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy at the UBC South Turf. The Kamloops women also lost 2-0 to the Vancouver Rise Academy in their season opener.

Kamloops is set to play its next two games on the road as well. They’re set to face Langley United on Friday, April 10 and Nanaimo United on Saturday, April 18, before welcoming Altitude FC to Hillside Stadium for the April 24 home opener.

Last season, the Kamloops United men finished in fifth place with seven wins and two draws from 16 games. The women finished ninth with one win and three draws from 16 games.
