Milobar’s leadership campaign fined for missed deadline

KAMLOOPS — The BC Conservative Party has announced a $7,500 fine for the Peter Milobar leadership campaign for failing to meet a payment deadline. 

All of the campaigns were required to pay the third fee of the race, totaling $40,000, on or before April 1. The party’s statement says Milobar’s cheque arrived one day late. 

“The Peter Milobar Campaign’s Financial Agent sent a photograph of a cheque to Party staff on March 29, 2026, indicating the cheque was on its way to the Party Office by way of regular (unregistered) mail,” reads the statement. 

“The Party received the Peter Milobar Campaign’s Third Fee on April 2, 2026, one day after the prescribed deadline and contrary to the Rules, which was brought to the attention of the Leadership Election Organizing Committee.”
