March in Kamloops warmer, drier than usual: Environment Canada
KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada says March was milder and drier than normal in Kamloops.
The forecasting agency reports an average temperature of 6 Celsius throughout the month of March, nearly a full degree warmer than the normal of 5.2 Celsius.
Forecaster Derek Lee says those totals were bolstered by a mid-month atmospheric river that dumped rain on the southern coast.
“What translated coming into the Interior – especially in the Kamloops area – was just really warm temperatures,” Lee told CFJC Today. “Instead of getting rainfall during this atmospheric river event, we actually got some really significant warmth that contributed to the overall numbers.”
