Amazon MGM Studios paused filming on its upcoming Tomb Raider series after star Sophie Turner sustained a minor injury. The studio confirmed on Monday that production briefly stopped as a precaution to allow Turner recovery time. A spokesperson did not specify whether the injury occurred on set or elsewhere. Turner was cast as video game hero Lara Croft in September 2025, with the studio releasing photos of her in costume this January. Phoebe Waller-Bridge serves as creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner for the series based on the popular video game franchise. The cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Martin Bobb-Semple. Previous film versions starred Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander as Croft. Amazon expects to resume production soon.
