Blazers open WHL Playoffs with loss to Kelowna

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers fell 3-1 to the Kelowna Rockets in their opening matchup of the 2026 WHL Playoffs on Friday (March 27) at Prospera Place.

Jacob Dumansky scored the lone Blazers goal with 4.7 seconds left in the third period, avoiding a shutout loss.

Kelowna’s Vojtech Cihar scored two of the three goals, one of which was on an empty net in the third period.

The Blazers will look to tie up the series when they take on the Rockets in game two on Saturday night (March 28) at Prospera Place in Kelowna.
