RCMP seize suspected drugs, guns in raid of Merritt home
MERRITT, B.C. — Merritt RCMP say officers seized cash, guns, suspected drugs and items consistent with drug trafficking after executing a search warrant in the city Friday (March 27) morning.
RCMP say the Southeast District Emergency Response Team assisted Merritt officers in raiding a home on the 2600-block of Nicola Avenue in Merritt.
In a news release, police say multiple individuals inside the home were arrested, although they were later released without charge pending further investigation. A specific number on the amount of items police seized was not provided.
“Removing illicit drugs and weapons from our community remains a priority for this detachment, as these items pose a significant risk to public safety,” Merritt RCMP S/Sgt. Josh Roda states.
