Man killed while assisting trapped semi-truck driver near Williams Lake
WILLIAMS LAKE — A man was killed trying to assist a semi-truck driver who was trapped in his vehicle following a collision near Williams Lake.
RCMP officials said two semi-trucks collided shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (March 25) along Highway 20, about 25 kilometres west of Williams Lake.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and discovered the 49-year-old man was killed while helping a trapped driver escape his vehicle after the initial crash.
Williams Lake RCMP said one of the vehicles became dislodged while the man was assisting and struck him, resulting in his fatal injuries.
