Usher says he has nothing “negative” to share about Sean “Diddy” Combs, choosing instead to focus on the mogul’s contributions to Black business and culture. Speaking to Forbes, the singer described his former mentor’s first impression as “legacy.” Usher lived with Combs as a teenager while recording his debut album in 1994. “My experience was not what the world has seen, and how he’s been misrepresented,” Usher explained. He acknowledged Combs’ admitted domestic violence but emphasized the pathway Combs created for Black entrepreneurs. “I can’t with any sense of humanity not recognize the valuable contributions that this man made,” Usher stated. Combs faces over 50 civil lawsuits following accusations from ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. He was acquitted of sex-trafficking charges but convicted on prostitution charges and is serving four years while appealing. Story URL
