FKA Twigs Files New Lawsuit Against Shia LaBeouf Over Alleged Illegal NDA
Singer FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking to block Shia LaBeouf from enforcing parts of their settlement’s nondisclosure agreement. Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, claims LaBeouf is illegally preventing her from discussing sexual violence and her own experiences of alleged abuse. The case stems from December when LaBeouf’s team demanded arbitration over a Hollywood Reporter interview where Twigs said “I wouldn’t feel safe” after their settlement. California’s STAND Act prohibits NDAs in sexual assault cases, but LaBeouf’s lawyers argued it doesn’t apply since Twigs only sued for battery, not assault. “LaBeouf’s preposterous argument should offend every citizen of California,” the lawsuit states. The original 2020 lawsuit accused LaBeouf of “relentless abuse” including strangling Barnett and keeping a loaded rifle nearby. Story URL
