Prescribed burn set for Seymour Arm area
SALMON ARM — The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is working with BC Timber Sales to finish off a 54 hectare burn east of Seymour Arm next Friday (March 27).
The exact timing of the burn will depend on local weather conditions, but BCWS officials said the burn could begin as early as March 27.
“Burning will proceed if conditions are suitable and allow for smoke dispersal during burn operations, though smoke may also linger in the following days,” said the BCWS.
The burn aims to restore forest and ecosystem health, and removing excess fuels to reduce future wildfire risks.
