UPDATE: Highway 1 west of Kamloops reopens following downed power lines

UPDATE (3:15 p.m.): KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP officials said Highway 1 near Cherry Creek is open once again with flaggers directing drivers through the area.
EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Highway 1 is closed near Cherry Creek, about 15 km west of Kamloops, as Tk’emlups RCMP responds to a downed powerline.
Police officials said first responders are on the scene as of 1:53 p.m. on Friday (March 20), as traffic remains closed in both directions.
Tk’emlups RCMP officers are diverting drivers on to Beaton Road from the east and Gardi Road from the west, joined via Buckhorn Drive.
