KAMLOOPS — Kendra Woodland is the first person from Kamloops to play in the Professional Women’s Hockey League.
The rookie Ottawa Charge goaltender made her long-awaited debut on Wednesday [March 18] in relief of starting netminder Gwyneth Philips. The 26-year-old Woodland stopped 14 of 16 shots in relief after entering the game at 14:50 of the first period.
While the Charge lost 5-0, as CFJC Today reports, Woodland’s milestone moment was years in the making.
