After slow start to 2026, Kamloops real estate market revved up in February

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops real estate market has awoken after a sleepy start to 2026.

New totals distributed by the Association of Interior Realtors (AIR) show 152 residential unit sales in Kamloops in February, up from just 90 in January and down just marginally from February 2025.

The February totals also showed increases in new listings (370) and overall inventory (1,037).

“Although we’re still just below last February’s activity levels, the Kamloops and District real estate market is finding its footing after a slow start to the year,” said AIR president Kadin Rainville. “The shift in momentum is a positive sign as we move further into the spring market.”

Sellers of single-family homes saw the market shift slightly in their favour, with the benchmark price up to $661,000 – a 2.2 per cent increase from the same month last year.

The benchmark price of a townhome was down by 3.7 per cent over the same time period to $483,600.

“After a sluggish start to the year in January, sales seemed to return to a more normal pace last month (in the Interior),” said Rainville. “Although we’re still sitting just below average levels, momentum is building and heading in the right direction.”
