Feb 27, 2026 | 6:03 AM

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — For the third time in February and fifth time in 2026, the emergency department in 100 Mile House will be temporarily closed.

Interior Health says emergency services at 100 Mile House District General Hospital will be unavailable for 25 hours, starting at 7:00 a.m. Friday (Feb. 27) until 8:00 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 28).

While all other inpatient services will continue at 100 Mile House District General Hospital, people who need emergency care are being rerouted to Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake during the temporary closure.

As has been the case during past emergency room closures, Interior Health said people should call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.

The District of 100 Mile House forwarded a plan to B.C.’s Ministry of Health to allow three nurse practitioners in the community to work in the local emergency department.

The 100 Mile House District General Hospital emergency department has been closed for 77 hours combined so far in 2026.  The ER was closed on 28 separate occasions in 2025.
