KAMLOOPS — A man who was acquitted of manslaughter for his part in a 2016 incident on the Kamloops North Shore has been sent to jail after admitting to misleading the court during his trial.

James David Bond was initially accused of beating 42-year-old Sean Dunn to death on Dec. 30, 2016, outside The Duchess nightclub on Tranquille Road. The incident followed an alcohol-fueled argument apparently involving Bond’s girlfriend at the time, Sarah Hupe.

Bond was acquitted of the crime in 2019, afterward telling CFJC Today he was relieved the trial had ended and expressing sympathy for Dunn’s family.

“It’s a tragic situation,” Bond said at the time. “I have to live with this for the rest of my life.”
