Three WolfPack volleyball players given year-end Canada West honours

KAMLOOPS — A trio of Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack volleyball players earned year-end honours from Canada West. 


On the women’s side, WolfPack outside hitter Rida Erlalelitepe and setter Libby Meldrum were named Canada West Second Team All-Stars. 

Erlalelitepe finished the 2025-26 season with 216 kills, good for 12th among Canada West players. The second-year from Turkey has the 14th best kills per set rate of 2.92. 

Meldrum led all Canada West players with an assist per set rate of 9.80. The fourth-year from North Vancouver also finished with 34 service aces, good for sixth among Canada West players, for a rate of 0.46 service aces per set. 

Erlalelitepe and Meldrum were key players for the WolfPack women’s volleyball team, helping them finish the season fourth in the Canada West standings with a record of 14-6. 

TRU will host the University of Manitoba Bisons in the best-of-three Canada West playoffs quarter-final series with game one set for Thursday (Feb. 26) at 6:00 p.m. from the Tournament Capital Centre. 

On the men’s side, first-year middle opposite Daniel Hitchens was named to Canada West’s All-Rookie Team. In 17 games with the WolfPack, the native of Tauranga, New Zealand had the 33rd highest kills per set rate among Canada West players in 2025-26. 

The WolfPack men’s volleyball team finished the season with a 6-14 record, good for 11th in the Canada West standings and just one spot out the playoff picture.
