KSAR says injured person rescued after vehicle goes over embankment on Goose Lake Road

KAMLOOPS — (UPDATE Feb. 23): One person was taken to hospital in a stable condition after a crash in the 500-block of Goose Lake Road, south of Kamloops city limits, this weekend.

Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) says it was called out to help an injured person around 1:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 21) morning.

In a post on social media, KSAR says 14 of its members – including members of the rope rescue team – responded to the call from the BC Emergency Health Services. According to KSAR, the victim suffered upper leg injuries after a vehicle had driven over an embankment.

“Upon arrival, the team was stood down as civilians on scene had successfully evacuated the subject,” the statement from KSAR said. “We’re grateful for a positive outcome and for the quick actions of those who assisted.”

In a statement to CFJC Today on Monday (Feb. 23), BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) said it was called to the 500-block of Goose Lake Road in Knutsford around 1:17 a.m. Saturday morning.

“One ambulance with primary care paramedics and a paramedic supervisor attended the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical care and transported one patient to hospital in stable condition,” Brian Twaites, a public information officer with BCEHS said.

At this time its not clear what caused the crash. An update on the status of the injured person is also not known.
