Ditch clearing work to cause temporary road closures at south end of Overlanders Bridge

KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is reminding drivers of a temporary traffic detour that will be in effect on the south end of the Overlanders Bridge early next week.

It notes the eastbound lane of Victoria Street West heading towards downtown will be closed to traffic between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., from Monday until Thursday (Feb. 23 to 26). Traffic will flow as normal outside of those hours.

In a post on social media, the city says the closure will allow crews to clear the ditches of silt and vegetation.

“Please use caution, follow all signage, and plan ahead,” the post said.

A similar closure was in effect last week on the eastbound on-ramp that links the Summit Connector to the Overlanders Bridge. That temporary closure Feb. 17 to 19 also featured lighting upgrades, the city said.
