Blazers pick up a point in 3-2 overtime loss to Rockets
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers came back and secured a point but fell to the Kelowna Rockets at home Friday (Feb. 20) 3-2 in overtime.
Trailing 2-0 going late into the second period, Nathan Behm struck twice for the Blazers in 1:26 to tie the game 2-2. Both of Behm’s goals came from above the circles: a slapshot from the right and a wrist shot from the left. The latter came after Josh Evaschesen held in a clearing attempt at the blueline.
The Blazers peppered the Rockets with 14 shots in the third period, and Jordan Keller hit the goalpost, but neither team could finish the game in regulation.
The Rockets left Kamloops with the extra point 1:55 into overtime when defenceman Mazden Leslie put back the rebound in the goal crease.
