KAMLOOPS — A pair of Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack men’s basketball players have earned year-end honours from Canada West.

Westsyde Secondary alumnus Cason Scott was named to the Canada West All-Rookie Team for the 2025-26 season, while third-year guard Jayden Stephens was named to Canada West’s Second Team All Star Team.

The six-foot-seven forward was third in WolfPack scoring with 11.1 points-per-game. He was fourth in rookie scoring in the conference, and also averaged 4.9 rebounds, 0.4 assists, and 0.8 blocks-per-game.

Scott’s name is all over the WolfPack’s record book as he is second in points-per-game and blocks-per-game as well as fifth in rebounds-per-game among rookies. He also set the WolfPack’s single-game rookie scoring record when he poured in 28 points against the TWU Spartans on Nov. 15 at the TCC.

“Cason’s development and production over the course of the season continued to grow with every opportunity this year,” WolfPack head coach Chad Jacobson said in a statement. “We knew that he was a very special player when we recruited him and to see him play at the level he did over the course of the year proved that.”

“His ability to impact the game in so many ways on both ends of the floor played a vital part in our team’s success this year. We’re excited for him to have a big offseason and continue to grow his role with our team.”

Stephens, a third-year guard from Calgary, averaged 17.2 points-per-game and was sixth among all Canada West players. He also had 5.7 rebounds-per-game and 0.8 assists-per-game in his first year with the WolfPack.

In addition to leading all TRU players, Stephens finished the season in rebounds and third in steals.

“Jayden showed all year that he is a very talented offensive player,” Jacobson added. “His ability to score in a variety of ways was an important part of our team’s success. His ability to make dynamic plays with the ball in his hands made him a difficult matchup in for opposing teams in our league.”

The WolfPack men’s basketball team finished the 2025-26 season with a record of 12-8. They bowed out in the Canada West play-in round after falling 70-66 to the University of Calgary Dinos, but expect to be back in the mix next season as only two seniors – Thomas Olsen and Gavis Reis – are graduating.

On the women’s side, no members of the WolfPack were named to Canada West basketball year-end teams. TRU’s women’s team finished the 2025-26 season with a record of 8-12.
