Shia LaBeouf posted “Free me” on social media Wednesday, one day after New Orleans police arrested him for allegedly assaulting two men during Mardi Gras celebrations. The Transformers actor was reportedly causing disturbances and becoming increasingly aggressive at a French Quarter bar on Royal Street Tuesday morning. Police said LaBeouf struck one victim multiple times with closed fists, briefly left, then returned “even more aggressive” and attacked the same person again. Victim Jeffrey Damnit said LaBeouf tried to beat him up while screaming, “‘You’re a fu–ing fa–ot’” as Damnit wore drag makeup. He allegedly punched a second individual in the nose. Court documents also show LaBeouf said “These fa–ots put me in jail – I’m a Catholic” referencing his 2023 conversion. LaBeouf faces two simple battery charges and was released Tuesday with a March 19th pretrial hearing scheduled.
