KAMLOOPS — Residents in Kamloops and area are invited to partake in a memorial skate to pay tribute to the three junior hockey players who were killed in a car crash in southern Alberta earlier this month

In a post to social media, Kamloops Minor Hockey (KMHA) says the “Memorial Skate with the Mustangs” will take place at the Riverside Park skating loop Sunday (Feb. 22) at 7:00 p.m.

Three players for the Southern Alberta Mustangs in Stavely, Alta. – Cameron Casorso and JJ Wright of Kamloops, both 18, and 17-year-old Caden Fine of Alabama – were in a car travelling east across Highway 2 when it collided with a northbound semi-truck hauling two trailers of gravel. The Mustangs said the three players were on their way to practice.

Casorso and Wright grew up within the KMHA. The minor hockey organization handed out commemorative helmet stickers to its under-18 age group as tokens of solace for the families of the players.
