Robert Duvall, Oscar-Winning Acting Legend, Dies At 95
Robert Duvall, the acclaimed actor who won an Oscar for Tender Mercies and earned nominations for The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, has died at age 95. His wife Luciana announced his peaceful passing at home on Facebook, calling him “one of the greatest actors of our time.” Duvall’s career spanned over five decades, from his breakout role as Boo Radley in To Kill A Mockingbird to playing Tom Hagen in The Godfather films. He received seven Oscar nominations total, winning Best Actor for 1984’s Tender Mercies. The versatile performer also excelled on television, winning two Emmys for the miniseries Broken Trail. Known for his gruff naturalism and character work, Duvall also appeared in classics like The Great Santini, Network, and The Apostle, which he also directed. His final film role was in 2022’s The Pale Blue Eye.
