Apple Podcasts To Add Video Feature This Spring
Feb 17, 2026 | 5:52 AM
Apple Podcasts will introduce video capabilities this spring, joining the growing video podcast trend. Users can switch between watching and listening within the app, download videos for offline viewing, and access horizontal full-screen display. The move positions Apple as a direct competitor to YouTube, the leading video podcast platform, plus Netflix and Spotify who have expanded video offerings. Launch partners include Omny Studio, SiriusXM, AdsWizz, and Simplecast, enabling creators to insert dynamic video ads and host-read segments. The feature will be available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro, and web versions. Apple first added podcasts to iTunes 20 years ago
