WolfPack women to host first-ever playoff volleyball series in Kamloops
CALGARY — The Thompson Rivers University women will play a Canada West playoff volleyball game at home for the very first time later this month.
TRU swept the Calgary Dinos 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-19) at the Jack Simpson Gym Saturday (Feb. 14) afternoon to end the regular season with a 14-6 record. The WolfPack leapfrogged Manitoba into fourth place after the Bisons lost in straight sets to the University of Fraser Valley.
The WolfPack will play the 14-6 Bisons in a best-of-three quarter-finals series Feb. 26 to 28 at the TCC. All three games are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., and information about tickets will be released at a later date.
“We are excited to host, it’s a new benchmark for our program – something that we’ve never been able to do,” head coach Chad Grimm said. “We’ll be happy to not travel and play in front of our fans and the city of Kamloops. We are looking forward to the support and I know the girls are excited for that.”
