KAMLOOPS — A man has been charged in connection with a November 2024 crash in a gas station parking lot on the North Shore that claimed the life of one person.

Court records show Mark Earl Crick, who was born in 1963, has been charged with one count of driving without due care and attention under Section 144(1)(a) of the Motor Vehicle Act. It typically comes with a fine of $368, though further penalties like higher fines and driving bans can also be imposed by a judge.

The incident dates back to the early morning hours of Nov. 27, 2024. Kamloops RCMP were called around 4:40 a.m. that morning after a person who was sitting up against a wall outside the Canco gas station store was hit by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Court records show charges were sworn last October. Crick had a court appearance Thursday (Feb. 12) morning and he’s set to make another appearance on March 12 to be arraigned.
