Catherine O’Hara’s cause of death has been revealed as a pulmonary embolism with rectal cancer as an underlying condition, according to her death certificate. The beloved actress died January 30th at her Los Angeles home after being hospitalized that morning with illness. Paramedics were called to her residence at 4:48 a.m. Her agency CAA stated O’Hara died after a “brief illness.” The 70-year-old’s career spanned over 50 years, from Second City Television to Beetlejuice, Home Alone, and Schitt’s Creek, earning multiple Emmy wins and nominations. Macaulay Culkin, her on-screen son, posted a touching tribute saying “Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more.”
