Blazers’ Edmonstone named WHL goaltender of the week
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Blazers netminder Logan Edmonstone has won the WHL Goaltender of the Week award for the second time this season.
The 18-year-old Edmonstone went 2-1 on the road with a 1.32 goals-against average, a .957 save percentage and one shutout this past week, as the Blazers played four games on the road.
Edmonstone was in net on Tuesday (Feb. 3) when the Blazers beat the Victoria Royals 11-1. The Saskatoon native stopped 31 of 32 shots that night and 31 of 34 shots the following night when the Royals bounced back to win 4-1.
After a night off Friday when the Blazers dropped a 6-3 decision to the Everett Silvertips, Edmonstone was back in the starting lineup as the Blazers beat the Vancouver Giants 5-0. Edmonstone stopped all 26 shots he faced for his league-leading fourth shutout of the season.
