Shoplifter suspected of stealing hundreds of dollars in items from Merritt business

MERRITT, B.C. — Merritt RCMP are trying to identify a shoplifting suspect involved in three separate incidents. 

In a news release issued Monday (Feb. 2), RCMP say an Indigenous man with short shaved dark hair and a small moustache and goatee – standing between 5’6” and 5’10” – is suspected of stealing hundreds of dollars in different merchandise items from a local business. 

“This type of behaviour is unacceptable. If anyone knows who this individual is, please come forward and speak with the police. We all pay the price, literally, for individuals who take advantage of and steal from business operators within our community,” Cst. Blake Chursinoff states. 

Anyone who recognizes the man or has other relevant information is asked to contact Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262.
