Apple’s Siegfried & Roy Series ‘Wild Things’ Uses CGI Tigers, PETA Confirms
Apple’s eight-episode limited series Wild Things about Siegfried & Roy will feature only CGI tigers, according to PETA, which received assurances from the production. The show stars Jude Law as Siegfried Fischbacher and Andrew Garfield as Roy Horn, with Only Murders in the Building showrunner John Hoffman leading the project. PETA’s Lauren Thomasson praised the decision, stating it avoids “cruel animal exploitation that left Roy fighting for his life after a stressed tiger lashed out” in 2003. Former trainer Chris Lawrence, who was also attacked by the same tiger, supports using CGI but disputes PETA’s characterization of the duo’s animal care. “PETA means well, but I don’t think they are as informed as they think they are,” Lawrence said. He maintains the big cats “were cared for and loved beyond any animal you can possibly imagine” and the attack was miscommunication, not abuse. Story URL
