Conservatives angered by pronoun gag in ‘Masters of the Universe’ trailer
The new Masters Of The Universe trailer generated controversy after showing He-Man’s office nameplate reading “Adam Glenn” with “He/Him” underneath. Conservative viewers criticized the moment as unnecessary political messaging. “Don’t think He-Man would care about f—ing pronouns,” one user posted on X. Author Jon Del Arroz wrote “These people won’t stop until they ruin everything,” claiming the scene had political intent. However, other viewers interpreted the nameplate as a joke referencing the character’s obviously masculine name. “He literally is a sword-wielding pronoun. That’s the gag here,” one defender explained. The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man alongside Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, and Jared Leto. Masters Of The Universe releases in theaters June 5th.
