New York City filed a lawsuit against Jordan McGraw and McGraw Media to prevent release of their police reality series Behind The Badge. The city claims the show contains “extremely problematic” content that endangers undercover officers, crime witnesses and victims by revealing their faces without consent. Under former Mayor Eric Adams, producers received behind-the-scenes NYPD access with agreement that the city could review episodes and remove certain material. When officials reviewed four episodes in December, McGraw Media refused to cut flagged content, according to the complaint. The lawsuit states footage shows confidential police operations, including a precinct’s back-door security code. “Any of this footage airing threatens to interfere with law enforcement investigations, judicial proceedings, deprive numerous arrestees’ rights to a fair trial,” the complaint states.
