Avatar: Fire & Ash maintained its box office dominance during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, projected to earn $17 million over four days in its fifth frame. The sequel has accumulated $353.4 million domestically and exceeds $1.23 billion worldwide. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple debuted as the weekend’s only major new release, tracking toward $15 million for the four-day period and $13 million for three days. These figures fall significantly short of the original 28 Years, which launched with $30 million in its three-day June opening. Zootopia 2 secured third place with an estimated $11.6 million four-day total during its eighth weekend, while achieving milestone status as the highest-grossing animated film globally ever at $1.313 billion, surpassing Inside Out 2. The Housemaid placed fourth with $10.1 million, while Marty Supreme rounds out the top five with $6.9 million.
