More details have emerged after Kiefer Sutherland was arrested earlier this week for allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill his Uber driver. Police responded around 12:15 a.m. Monday near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue following a 911 call from the driver. According to TMZ, Sutherland claimed he asked the driver three times to pull over and let him out during a ride home from dinner, but the driver refused. The driver claimed Sutherland threatened to kill him and assaulted him with his hands, though no medical treatment was needed. TMZ says there may have been a language barrier between the two. Sutherland was ultimately charged with making criminal threats, a felony. He posted $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court February 2, 2026. This marks another legal issue for Sutherland, who has multiple previous arrests including DUI charges in 1989, 1993, 2004, and 2007.
