Canadian rugby sevens women return to action in Singapore and Perth, Australia
After opening the HSBC SVNS season with back-to-back sixth-place finishes in Dubai and Cape Town, the Canadian women’s rugby sevens team returns to action at events in Singapore and Perth, Australia.
Canada, which stands seventh in the standings, opens play in Singapore on Jan. 30 against No. 5 France before facing No. 2 New Zealand and No. 8 Britain on Jan. 31. The Perth stop starts Feb. 7.
Canada coach Jocelyn Barrieau’s 14-player travelling squad has been reinforced by six members of Canada’s runner-up team at the 2025 Rugby World Cup: Olivia Apps, Fancy Bermudez, Alysha Corrigan, Gabrielle Senft, Shoshanah Seumanutafa and Taylor Perry.
Apps, Bermudez, Corrigan, Senft and Sabrina Poulin join the squad from their club teams in England’s PWR (Professional Women’s Rugby) circuit.
