“The Fate Of Ophelia” Gives Taylor Swift Her First 10-Week Reign At No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100 Chart
Taylor Swift‘s “The Fate of Ophelia” claims its tenth nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100, marking her first song to reach double-digit weeks at No. 1 among her 13 career chart-toppers. The track comes from Swift’s record-setting album, The Life of a Showgirl, which has now spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it only the fifth album in chart history to lead for 10 or more weeks while producing a single that also topped the Hot 100 for at least that same duration. During the December 26-January 1 tracking week, “Ophelia” earned 18.4 million streams, 62.1 million radio audience impressions, and sold 11,000 copies. Swift’s 13 No 1 hits tie her for fourth-most in Hot 100 history, while her 46 total weeks topping the chart ties Beyoncé for seventh-most all-time.
In other significant moves in this week’s Hot 100, Djo earns his first Top 10 hit as “End of Beginning” jumps from No. 16 to No. 6, after originally reaching No. 11 in March 2024. Djo is the performing name of actor Joe Keery of Stranger Things, with his song surging following the recent finale of the hit Netflix series. The rest of the Top 10 features Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” rising one spot to No. 2, trading chart places with HUNTR/X’s “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters, which falls one slot to No. 3. Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” remains at its No. 4 peak, and Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” holds at its No. 5 high, while topping the Hot Country Songs chart for a seventh week.
Kehlani’s “Folded” drops one spot to No. 7, though it tops the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts for a fifth week each, while Sombr’s “Back to Friends” falls one place to No. 8, Swift’s “Opalite” slides down one spot to No. 9, and Leon Thomas’ “Mutt” descends one slot to No. 10.
