Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami debuted their reimagined “Golden (Glowin’ Version)” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday (January 8), performing the track while surrounded by candles and string musicians. The trio provides the vocals for fictional K-pop group HUNTR/X in Netflix’s record-setting animated film, KPop Demon Hunters, where they portray Rumi, Mira, and Zoey respectively. The new version of their smash hit dropped on streaming services at midnight following their appearance. Their original “Golden” topped Billboard’s Hot 100 for eight nonconsecutive weeks and earned double-platinum certification from the RIAA. The song also made history by spending twenty weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Global chart, while the Netflix film became the platform’s most-watched movie in history. “I feel like I experienced all facets of K-pop,” Ejae said of the group’s rise to fame. “Golden really means a lot to me, because I feel like at that time, I needed a song like that.” (Rolling Stone)
