Defense attorney withdraws from Nick Reiner double-murder case
Defense lawyer Alan Jackson withdrew Wednesday from representing Nick Reiner, accused of murdering his parents Rob and Michele Reiner. Deputy public defender Kimberly Greene took over the case during a court appearance where Reiner agreed to postpone his arraignment to February 23rd. “Yeah, I agree,” Reiner said in his only statement. Jackson cited “circumstances beyond our control, and more importantly, circumstances beyond Nick’s control” but added “Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder.” L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said prosecutors remain “fully confident that a jury will convict Nick Reiner beyond a reasonable doubt.” The 32-year-old faces life without parole or death penalty for the December 14th killings in the couple’s Brentwood home. He was arrested that night near USC campus and remains held without bail. (Story URL)
