Public invited to help choose new pay parking provider for downtown Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is upgrading its pay parking infrastructure and is turning to its residents to help choose a new provider.
In a news release, the city says it wants to replace its existing kiosk system with “a modern solution that delivers improved reliability, enhanced customer convenience, and technological integration, including mobile payments, contactless options, and license plate-based enforcement.”
The city operates about 800 on-street spaces covered by pay parking downtown, in addition to nine off-street lots, pay-by-space lots at the Tournament Capital Centre and parkades on Seymour and Lansdowne Streets.
To gather the public’s feedback on the options being considered, demonstration sessions will be held on two evenings next week — Tuesday (Jan. 13) at the Sandman Centre’s Kia Lounge and Wednesday (Jan. 14) at McArthur Island’s Sports Centre Lounge.
