Netflix names judging panel of ‘Star Search’ reboot

Netflix announced that Jelly Roll, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Chrissy Teigen will serve as judges for the Star Search reboot. Anthony Anderson will host the live talent competition, which premieres January 20th after being off the air for 20 years. The five-week event airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, featuring real-time voting through TV remotes or mobile apps. Contestants will compete across music, dance, variety, comedy, magic, and junior categories in head-to-head eliminations. Jelly Roll recently hit number one on Billboard 200 with “Beautifully Broken.” Gellar, known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will reprise her role in Hulu’s upcoming revival.
