KAMLOOPS — A former Kamloops man who admitted to killing his pregnant girlfriend in 2000 has had his day parole extended.

In a decision dated December 17, 2025, the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) issued a six-month extension for Trent Larsen’s day parole.

Larsen was arrested in 2019 in the killing of Angel Fehr, who was five months pregnant when she disappeared in April, 2000. Her body was eventually found buried in a barrel on a rural property near 100 Mile House.

In 2021, Larsen pleaded guilty to manslaughter and committing an indignity to a dead body. He was given eight years in prison.

Larsen was first granted day parole in September 2024. That arrangement was extended twice, though in each case, the board noted it was troubled by Larsen’s poor attitude. Last September, PBC extended his day parole by four months despite a recommendation from Correctional Services Canada that it be extended by six months.

In the most recent decision, the board notes Larsen’s behaviour has improved.

“You have paid your outstanding debts, you have provided details of your finances as required, you secured employment, purchased a vehicle, completed programming, and your attitude toward your [case management team] improved,” stated the board’s report.

PBC notes Larsen has indicated he plans to seek full parole in the future.
