Up to 15 centimetres of snow expected for Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops to Merritt
KAMLOOPS — A snowfall warning is in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops to Merritt.
Environment Canada is forecasting 10 to 15 centimetres for the stretch of Highway 5 Wednesday (Dec. 24) with more intense snowfall later in the day.
Similar snowfall warnings are also in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and the Trans Canada Highway through the Fraser Canyon. A travel advisory is in effect for Highway 5 from Hope to Merritt as DriveBC is reporting conditions such as compact snow, bumpy sections, limited facilities and narrow lanes due to heavy snow load.
