Peter Pan Panto production takes the stage over winter holidays

KAMLOOPS — The Laughing Stock Theatre Society is taking over the stage at the Sagebrush Theatre this week, for their ‘Panto’ production of Peter Pan.

The show is a family friendly, comedic take on J.M. Barrie’s classic novel, Peter Pan. Director and producer, Vance Schneider says this production will be featuring slapstick humour, music, and pantomime style costumes.

“The costumes are over the top, the audience participation is incredibly important because we have the interactions with the audience. Not a fourth wall in this play. You don’t sit quietly in this theatre. Lot of cheering and clapping, booing for the villains, winning arguments, and warning people when they’re about to be approached from behind,” says Schneider, “And it’s just a grand take on the classic story by Barrie.”

The cast says the production is a celebration of art and storytelling, and it’s all meant to give audiences some laughs, and entertainment over the holidays.

The role of Peter Pan has been taken on by Morgan Wright, who says it’s taken weeks of preparation to get into the character.
