KAMLOOPS — The Thompson River Fighting Trout will be making their return to Sandman Centre in March.

The Kamloops Blazers will rebrand as the Fighting Trout on Saturday, March 14 when the Kelowna Rockets come to town. It’s the second time the Fighting Trout will take the ice at Sandman Centre following last year’s debut against the Rockets.

“We will debut a brand-new jersey design and a line of merchandise as we take on the Memorial Cup hosts, the Kelowna Rockets,” a statement from the Kamloops Blazers said. “This is a game you’ll certainly want to ‘catch.'”

Fighting Trout night is one of several promotional nights scheduled for the second half of the Kamloops Blazers 2025-26 WHL season.

The Blazers will host Kamloops Minor Hockey Association Night on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026 when the Wenatchee Wild are in town. Kids 12 and under will have a chance to enter to win the “Dinner with a Blazer” contest.

The Blazers will also host Indigenous Night on Wednesday, Jan. 28 against the Red Deer Rebels and Pet Partners Night on Saturday, Feb. 14 against the Prince George Cougars.

The ever-popular Skate with the Blazers game will also be played on Family Day Monday (Feb. 16) against Kamloops local Reggie Newman’s Victoria Royals. That game is scheduled to get underway at 2:00 p.m.

The Blazers are off until next Saturday (Dec. 27) when the Calgary Hitmen stop by Sandman Centre. That game, which is scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m., will begin the second half of the WHL season.
