MERRITT — RCMP are asking for help as they continue to investigate the death of Pamela Jarvis last Tuesday (Dec. 16).

The 45-year-old mother of six was found with “serious injuries” at a house in Merritt, and police say she succumbed to her injuries at the Nicola Valley Hospital. Pamela’s husband, 49-year-old Christopher Jarvis, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, the next day.

In a news release Saturday (Dec. 20), RCMP investigators asked people with video of the Princeton-Kamloops Highway 5A corridor, Nicola Avenue or Voght Street between noon and 2:00 p.m. on Dec. 16 to contact the Major Crime Unit tip line at 1-877-987-8477.

“Police are hoping footage may help clarify movements leading up to and immediately following the incident,” the RCMP statement said.

Pamela Jarvis is being remembered for her kind nature and for the many close friendships that she formed around the Merritt community, which is rallying around the six Jarvis children.

“I just want people to know she was the best,” Pamela’s eldest son, Nathan told CFJC Today on Friday (Dec. 19). “She really put her heart and soul into her kids, and her kids meant everything to her.”

An online fundraiser set up to support the Jarvis family has raised over $60,000.

“For Pam, her children were her everything,” organizer Leanne Dixon said on GoFundMe. “Every child, every sport, every moment. Please help be the family they need right now and beyond, for her.

“This page can give them a bit of security, showing that we as a community (and beyond) have them…in any small or big way you can afford.”

Christopher Jarvis is currently in police custody and he’s due back in court on Jan. 6, 2026.
